Shimoni
Shimoni is a historic port village roughly 80 kilometres south of Mombasa, near the Tanzanian border and directly across the channel from Wasini Island. It serves as the main gateway to Kisite-Mpunguti Marine National Park, known for its coral gardens and resident dolphin population. The village also carries a significant and difficult history, including 19th-century slave caves that remain a site of memory and education today.
